Conveyor systems are the core material handling equipment that keeps product flow inside a production line continuous and controlled. Kasas Teknoloji manufactures modular belt and PVC belt conveyors for food and packaging plants, with every unit engineered around the existing line layout. Frames are built from stainless steel or painted carbon steel, and the hygienic design favours open, washable surfaces and belt groups that can be stripped without special tooling. Because speed is adjustable at the drive, the transfer rate follows the tempo of the line rather than forcing it. Straight, inclined and curved bodies close the gaps between machines so operators no longer carry product by hand. Installation and commissioning are delivered turnkey.

How It Works

A belt conveyor is built around a continuous carrying surface running between a drive drum and a take-up drum. A geared motor turns the drive drum, the contact between drum and belt moves the surface, and the product simply rides the conveyor belt along the route. A modular belt is assembled from interlocking plastic segments joined by rods and is driven by sprockets, so it cannot slip and can follow curved paths. A PVC belt is a single endless surface and gives a thinner, quieter answer on straight, short runs. For inclined transfer the belt is specified with a textured surface, cleats or sidewall profiles so units do not slide back. The take-up assembly keeps tension stable in operation while side guides hold product on the line. Speed is controlled by a frequency inverter and set to match production demand.

What is a conveyor and what does it do on a production line?

A conveyor moves product from one point to another on a continuously running surface. Which belt is used in food production?

Food lines use belts made from food-contact suitable materials together with stainless steel frames. Where washdown cleaning applies, open profiles, free water drainage and belt groups that strip out quickly are preferred. Depending on the product, either a modular belt or a food-grade PVC belt is specified, decided alongside the cleaning regime.

Can conveyor speed be adjusted?

Yes. When the drive motor runs through a frequency inverter, belt speed can be varied steplessly during operation. This lets the conveyor match the tempo of the packaging or filling machine next to it. The working speed range is defined during engineering and can be set by the operator from the control panel.
